Andy Warhol Campbell’s Soup Can apron and oven glove

Warhol_kitchen

Yet more design for the kitchen, this time courtesy of the late Andy Warhol, with this Campbell’s Soup Can apron and oven glove.

What you see is what you get, an apron with front pocket to keep you clean in the kitchen and an oven glove/mit for picking up your hot dishes. But unlike all the others on the market, these have an iconic pop art design that’s sure to impress the neighbours.

Both are available from Heals, with the apron retailing for £16 and the oven glove for £11.

Big Tomato Company’s retro Love mug

Lovemug

You may remember the Pop Art Gift Boxes we featured some time back from the Big Tomato Company. Well, if you liked those, you’ll probably love the company’s Love mug.

Made from real English creamware in Stock-on-Trent, it features the Love design on both sides and it’s dishwasher safe. Want more? Well, it also comes in a similarly-designed gift box – good enough to buy on its own.

You can pick the pair up for £15.

Esperanto Panatela Chair

Esperanto No, this isn’t a relic from a sixties summer house, this is a very modern example of home design – the Esperanto Panatela Chair.

It’s a piece of casual seating made of steel and high density foam, brought to life by the textiles of abstract painter turned designer Tim Kurtz. The fabric used here is just one of six hand printed cloths to choose from – all incredibly stylish and echoing a bygone era.

The chair ships fully assembled, but as far as I can see, only to US customers. If outside, contact the retailer. The price is $800 (around £400), with a larger Robusto mini sofa retailing for $850 (around $425).

Meyer Prestige Mary Quant Deco kettle

Maryquant_kettle Fashion in the kitchen? Yes, this Meyer Prestige Mary Quant Deco kettle is just that – featuring a design from the hand of the sixties icon.

Sadly, it’s not in black and white or indeed covered in daisies, this particular design, as the name suggests, is more in the "Deco" style. It’s still a smart addition to your kitchen, as well as a very modern one, with its 1.5 litre capacity, 360 degree swivel base, automatic boil-dry cut out and over-heat protector, illuminated on/off switch and non-slip base.

You can pick one up online for £46.99.

Rapha/Paul Smith vintage-style cycling caps

Rapha_caps

When it comes to serious cycling, the kit you wear is almost as important as the bike you ride – and for many, that means Rapha, which arguably has the most stylish cycling gear around. The company also does the odd collaboration with cycling fan Paul Smith too – the latest of which are these vintage-style cycling caps.

They’re a limited edition of 200 per style to celebrate Le Grand Départ of the Tour de France in London, both based on the Rapha Cap design but with one significant difference – these use a combination of tweed and houndstooth to give them a distinctive look. The peak of each cap is also embroidered on both sides. One side has the Paul Smith 531 Logo, while the other side is embroidered with the classic Rapha logo.

Available online, you can pick one up in a choice of size for £30.

Keep Calm And Carry On t-shirt

Keepcalm_tshirt Well, we featured the original poster a year ago, then we had the tea towel and screenprint, so it was only a matter of time before someone produced the Keep Calm And Carry On t-shirt.

It might sound like a quick cash in, but the t-shirts look to be of good quality and with plenty of limited edition colours to choose from, including red (in keeping with the original wartime poster), blue (pictured here) and a bright yellow in the women’s sizes.

All are fitted shirts made from 100 per cent cotton – and all retail for £20 each.
