Retro Room aquarium

Retro_aquarium
Usually, a fish tank has a small piece of plastic coral and some pebbles for decoration, so how about giving your goldfish a 70s-style makeover with the Retro Room aquarium.

It’s a fairly basic tank, but with the added interest of a vintage-style chair, TV, lava lamp and rug – everything your retro-inspired goldfish will ever need. And if you don’t want to stick in a real goldfish, there’s even a plastic one to start you off.

Available online, you can pick one up for $20 (around £10).

Marks & Spencer target-style cufflinks

Mands_target
Marks & Spencer
seems to be improving in all areas – except with its menswear, which continues to go downhill season-on-season. However, there are the odd gems if you look carefully, one of those being these target-style cuffflinks.

Going for a monochromed look, they’re a nice alternative to the traditional targets and have a nice bulk to them, giving the look of a more expensive pair of cufflinks.

Available now both instore and online, you can pick them up for £19.50.

Authentic Cultural Revolution clocks

Chinaclocks

Once a means of propaganda, now a quirky and stylish addition to your home – that’s the Cultural Revolution clocks, which are available now from Rouge.

Shop owner Lei is originally from China and regularly makes trips over to the country for authentic items – and indeed collectables of tomorrow. Which is what these clocks are. All were made during the period 1966-76, are composed of tin and feature their own message – the above examples say  “ Great Mentor, Great Leader, Long Life Chairman Mao” or "Long Life Chairman Mao".

Priced at just £25, you can pick them up via mail order or by calling into the shop in London.

Signed Ziggy Stardust print by Terry Pastor

Ziggy
The Hypergallery has a range of classic rock artwork for sale, signed by both the artist and…well the artist.

Typical is this classic, possibly iconic cover art for David Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. It was designed by Terry Pastor and is reproduced here as a 19-inch x 19-inch silkscreen print on Somerset Velvet Enhanced paper.

And just to add some added value, it’s countersigned in pencil by David Bowie himself. The issue size is 195 and each print retails for £850.

Mod Monkee

Mod_monkee

Looking for the perfect gift for the Mod in your life? You need the Mod Monkee.

Sadly, he’s not dressed in a parka or tonic suit- and he’s not got the haircut or a decent record collection either. What he does have is a target t-shirt, along with a target-branded box for a home.

Classic novelty gift territory – and at £12, not that expensive either.

Topshop Liberty printed dress

Libertydress
There are loads of dresses in the shops at the moment, many of them with heavily patterned 70s designs. This Liberty printed dress from Topshop has the same theme, but with a little bit more subtlety.

I think we will all be buying at least on flowered dress this season, but the colour scheme on this one may appeal if you want to stay away from some the primary brights seen on other versions.

It has a spring inspired flower pattern, with bell sleeves and is made in 100% cotton, so it will see you all the way through to the summer. You can get one for £75.
