If you're hunting for a real retro indulgence and you can afford to splash your cash a little more liberally, this ultra feminine Vintage Scent Bottle Clutch by Charlotte Olympia might be for you.
Perfume enthusiasts should schedule in a visit to Harrods before 2 October as the world famous department store is exploring the heritage and history of some of the most iconic fragrance brands at The Perfume Diaries exhibition.
Curated by fragrance expert Roja Dove, the exhibition examines scents from 1800s onwards. Original sketches and artwork are displayed alongside vintage packaging. The changing trends in fragrance throughout the twentieth century are explored, as well as the inspiration behind some of the most famous perfumes – including the Dior New Look dress that inspired the creation of Miss Dior in 1947.
There are also some talks scheduled to accompany the exhibition, including one featuring Jean-Paul Guerlain and Terry Wasser of Guerlain.

You’ve bought the cushions, the bags, the bedspreads, the mugs, the furniture and everything else from the ever-expanding range, so why not buy the Orla Kiely Perfume too?
Such are the limitations of the web that I haven’t been able to smell it yet, but it is described as “a charming fragrance of light floral notes” – probably just what you would expect Orla Kiely’s fragrance to be. More specifically it contains extracts of rose, geranium and bergamot, with subtle hints fresh fig and chocolate. The bottle is embossed with Orla Kiely’s signature stem design. The Eau de Perfum is available in three sizes, 100ml (£55), 60ml (£42) and a 25ml purse spray (£32).
It is available to buy from the Orla Kiely website (although you may prefer to find it in a shop so you can actually smell it first) and is currently only available to UK customers.
Recreate the dressing room of a silent movie star with the Newgate Monroe mirror. The mirror looks deliberately vintage and is decorated with decoupage-style images of cosmetics, perfumes and mementos like photographs and postcards. Indeed it's so glamorous you'll probably have to do your make-up before you can bring yourself to look in it!
It's available in two sizes. The small is 27cm high and costs £29.95 while the larger version is 60cm high and costs an additional £44.16. .

Mention the word Filofax to me and I think of shoulder-padded, hard-nosed business execs storming their way through the 1980s. However, the Filofax is still around and it seems eager to get in touch with its softer, more feminine side with products such as this Fresco beauty giftbox.
The giftbox contains all the essentials for a beauty conscious girl about town: a mirror, a pen that also contains a perfume atomizer, a voucher for a free beauty treatment and of course the Filofax organiser, decorated with an attractive '50s-style illustration. They are also available in a hot pink or snake skin finish and cost £40.
