The Slazenger Heritage collection continues to grow, with bags being the latest to be added to the company's range.

I'll be honest, I'm not blown away by most of them, the majority look trapped in some kind of modern/retro void. But look closely and to the right of the picture and you'll see two winners – a vintage-style holdall and a retro messenger bag, both of which keep it simple and authentic, with just the large logo as detail.

The rest may or may not appeal. You can get up-close to all of them in various colours on the Slazenger Heritage site soon, with prices from £29.99.

Slazenger Heritage clearance at Secret Sales

You may remember we recently featured the Slazenger Heritage 1970s 'Bing Crosby' lambswool cardigan. Well that, as well as other Slazenger Heritage items, are now in a clearance sale on the Secret Sales website.

As well as the Bing knits, there's also some lambswool v-neck jumpers, polo shirts and some jackets, all around half price. So that 'Bing' cardigan from 1977 is £39 right now. There's also a discount code on the site for a further 10 per cent off for anyone who hasn't used the site before.

Stock is likely to be limited, so you might want to get in sooner rather than later for the better items. The Slazenger stock is in the 'Men's Heritage Boutique' section and you do have to sign up (for free) if you've not viewed the site before.

Christmas is coming and what could be more festive than the strains of Bing Crosby and David Bowie singing Little Drummer Boy? Well, we’ll tell you – wearing this Slazenger Heritage 1970s ‘Bing Crosby’ lambswool cardigan while you listen to it.

Yes, Slazenger has nipped into the archives and founnd the design for the cardigan Bing was wearing at that recording in 1977, a light blue number in extra fine lambswool with six-button fastening, a classic Slazenger logo on the chest and a slim fit.

Slazenger Heritage is doing a good job of digging out and recreating some old school clobber for the modern era – and we're particularly taken by this new addition, the Slazenger Heritage Gold Fred tank top.

I would second guess it started out as a tennis tank top (essential for a British summer), but is back today as an extra layer with a bit of style for everyday wear.

Take your pick from a dark blue or white cable-knit, both with contrast detailing and the gold Slazenger logo. Both at the same price too – £55.

Slazenger 1966 World Cup special edition match ball

A real talking point, as well as useful thing should you fancy an impromptu kickabout – the Slazenger 1966 World Cup special edition match ball.

You may or may not know that Slazenger produced the ball used in England’s ’66 World Cup triumph and this is a replica of that very same ball. No boffins worked on this particular piece of kit, this is a genuine hand stitched leather ball made up of 25 panels. But it is said to be a little lighter than the original (currently housed in the National Football Museum, wherever that happens to be this week).

Limited edition as you might expect, it sells for £19.66.
