eBay watch: Sanyo G2311NK briefcase audio system

Briefcase

There's definitely a touch of the James Bond about this Sanyo G2311NK briefcase audio system.

Yes, your eyes don't deceive you – this is a complete stereo system in a briefcase, dating back to the 1980s and able to work on battery or mains. For your money, you get a record deck, cassette playback, three-band radio and detachable speakers, all of which slips together for you to carry round on your travels. Think of it as an old school iPod.

Accroding to the seller, it's in full working order, good condition and apparently cost a packet when new. Not today – on eBay it's just £14.99 right now.

Floppy disk sticky notes from Suck UK

 Floppydiskstickynotes
Add some retro charm to your office with a reminder of some outdated technology courtesy of these floppy disk sticky notes from Suck UK

Yes, they are sticky notes that are designed to look like those old floppy disks that used to litter up the desk. However, as you can actually write on these notes, when used in conjunction with another piece of old-fashioned technology (i.e. a pen!) they're a lot more useful than the real thing for speedily conveying information.

You get three note pads in a pack for £7.50.

Panasonic Ellipse space age circular TV

Pana

It's a listing that leaves more questions than it offers answers, but we love the look of this Panasonic Ellipse space age circular TV.

Presumably from the 1960s, it has a stunning rounded shape, a chromed base and a large antenna. It's the TV The Jetsons would have owned. You know there's a 'but' coming. The listing is brief, the seller claims he has 'perfect sound', but couldn't check if the picture functions due to a lack of adapter and even though he's down as being based in Manchester, the shipping is from Hamburg.

But the big problem here is the starting price – £320 for a TV that may or may not be working. If the selling dropped that, it would certainly be worth investigating. If you want to take a chance, you can bid now.

Pure Evoke Mio DAB radio by Orla Kiely

Orla1

Pure is battling Roberts for the designer radio crown, but we think this Pure Evoke Mio DAB radio by Orla Kiely just edges the Roberts Cath Kidston radio.

As you can see, the exterior is covered by Orla Kiely's signature stem print, finished off with a mirrored chrome handle and a walnut-veneered cabinet. According to Pocket Lint, it has both DAB and FM reception, with an input for an iPod or MP3 player and the option of the Pure ChargePAK for up to 24 hours of portable listening per charge. Other features include 30 presets and Intellitext and textScan functions for pausing and scrolling through text information.

The Pure Evoke Mio DAB radio by Orla Kiely will be on sale exclusively at John Lewis from early November and at other retailers from March 2011. £149.99 will secure you one. Another shot of the radio over the page.

Crosley Classic Kitchen Phone

Crossleyphone
The Crosley Classic Kitchen Phone is a tribute to the mid-century telephones designed by Henry Dreyfuss.

This wall-mounted phone was originally designed to allow consumers to walk with the phone while cradling it on their shoulder and Dreyfuss undertook an extensive survey of human faces to determine the average distance between the mouth and ear. The Crosley design has incorporated these ideas, but updated the phone with push buttons, redial function and pulse/tone modes.

The phone costs $54 from Urban Outfitters, although sadly it is can only be delivered within the USA.
