SingStar: Motown arrives on the PlayStation 3

Singstar

Let's be honest, who can resist a drunken night in front of the TV with a plastic microphone singing along to some old hits? Not us, that's for sure. Unfortunately, most of the music discs released forSingStar have been…well…a bit rubbish. That's until today, with the launch of SingStar: Motown, released as part of the Motown 50 celebrations.

Yes, you can croon your way through Motown classics of the 1960s and 70s to score points, to beat your mates or just because you fancy a singalong now that the pubs have closed and you're half cut. If you've already got the microphones, just slap in the disc to access everything from Mary Wells and Marvin Gaye to Rick James and the Commodores.

Around 30 tracks in total, which you can pick up for £17.99 for the PS3 version (PS2 also available with slightly less tracks). See over the page for the full tracklisting.

Commodore 64 emulator heads to iPhone

C64

Have fond memories of the golden age of gameplay? Or simply want to know why your older brother bangs on about games not being as good as they used to be? Either way, you need the Commodore 64 emulator for the iPhone.

Yes, you can turn the clock back 25+ years by picking up this iPhone app, which turns the touchscreen into an old school console, throwing in five games to start you off – Dragon’s Den, Le Mans, Jupiter Lander, Arctic Shipwreck and Jack Attack. Once you've exhausted those, more games will follow for a modest cash outlay.

Indeed, the actual app doesn't break the bank – available now for just £2.99.

Jonathan Adler Barbie Doll and home furnishings

Adler_doll1

Jonathan Adler certainly doesn't hide his love of all things 70s, so it's no surprise that the Jonathan Adler Barbie Doll could have come kicking and screaming out of that decade.

A limited edition doll that should be on the shelves from September, it offers up a 70s-style hipster Barbie complete with mini dress in a David Hicks-inspired Adler fabric, along with some retro-styled mini accessories inspired by real interior pieces, specifically a side table, lamp, 3 funky-patterned vases, a lacquered tray, and a Barbie silhouette mirror.

If that's not enough for you, check out over the page for the Barbie Jonathan Adler room pack, which adds an Adler sofa, pillows, and blanket to the mix. You can pre-order now ahead of that September release, prices are $59.99 for the doll and accessories, $58.49 for the room pack.

Build your own Mini Kit

Build a mini cooper

The mini was selected as one of the British design classics at the start of the year for the Royal Mail stamps collection. If you would like to see just how this design comes together, you may be interested in this Build your own mini kit. The mini itself is a 1:38 scale model of the actual car so, in this case, a screwdriver will be of more use to you than an engineering degree. It has all the relevant small bits – from the metal body to the rubber wheels – and also full instructions.

The sales blurb on the shop site mentions the mini's link to The Italian Job. However, this model looks like it is based on a much later version of the car. That small quibble aside, it's a nice bit of kit for just £10.

Keith Haring Domino Set at Paul Smith

Haring_dom

Thought dominoes couldn't get cool? Well, you've obviously not seen the Keith Haring Domino Set.

It's dominoes, but not as you know it – instead of dots on a plain background, you get some Haring 80s-style street art, which comes packed in a rather cool Haring-style box.

It's fun on a rainy day, as well as a stylish thing to have about the place. Yours for £40.
