Kitty Cooper Dina shoes – made from vintage fabrics

Kitty

The Kitty Cooper Dina shoes aren’t just inspired by the past, they’re also made from the past.

The pair featured here are made from a 1930s dove-blue satin, with a 1950s fuchsia silk used for the heels, part of a design that would fit effortlessly into a bygone era.

All the shoes are ethically produced and available to order online. But they certainly aren’t cheap – the pair above retail for £235. See the website for the rest of the range.

French Connection’s Mayhem Coat for Spring

WomenswearThis isn’t one for those who don’t want to stand out, as this Mayhem Coat from French Connection looks like one to turn heads.

If you’re looking for a Spring coat with a touch of retro appeal, and which is certainly a statement piece then this could be perfect.

In a great shade of emerald green, the oversized pussybow collar and balloon sleeves make this an almost cartoonish interpretation of the 60s. It still gets away with it though, somehow. You can pick it up from FCUK for £125.

Ellison Mary Jane court shoes from Barratts

10_270_0994Barratts is almost the last place you’d expect to find a pretty pair of retro shoes, but among the spangle there’s one or two fit for completing any retro wardrobe.

These Ellison Mary Janes aren’t going to blow anyone away, but they’re good looking, a versatile heel height and best of all very affordable.

I’m completely enamoured with this particular shade of brown leather, and the button and rouching on the heel are a nice touch. All that for only £35?

Rockabilly clothing from Baby Girl Boutique

Yhst45547213099599_1987_431112166

The rockabilly scene is another revivalist movement that’s thriving in the underbelly of many a city in the UK, and it comes as no surprise when you first hear the strains of Wanda Jackson’s Funnel of Love.

Arguably even more exciting than that, though, is the fantastic image associated with rockabilly girls of the 1950s. Baby Girl Boutique is a fantastic shop full of wiggle dresses, rockabilly outfits and 50s inspired accessories.

This extremely daring dress, as modelled by the stunning Miss Bernie Dexter, is on sale for $98. If you’re not quite prepared for something so skintight, there’s plenty more sultry but understated outfits for sale too.
