We’ve featured her 1950s print book (and mentioned its 60s counterpart), so I thought we should also cover Marnie Fogg’s 1980s Fashion Print book for those whose favourite decade is the era of New Romantics, shoulder pads and excess.

Bold jungle florals, surfer and skateboarder motifs and bright neon feature heaily in 80s prints – this is not an era of subtle patterns. Chapter titles such as “Neon Blitz”, “Glamazon” and “Catch the Wave” give a good indication of the sort of things covered. Even if many of the designs aren’t to your taste, it is an interesting period because for the first time the prints were being created entirely by fashion designers rather than interior designers as in previous decades.

Buy the book from Amazon, priced £14.44.
