A Two Pipe Problem Letterpress Studio

  2pipe_v2

A Two Pipe Problem is a Walthamstow-based letterpress studio run by graphic designer Stephen Kenny. Using his collection of old wooden blocks and metal type he designs and prints striking posters featuring quotes inspired by music, film and literature. The typography creates a strong visual impact with classic style and the antique nature of the materials used means that no two posters are the same.

Stephen will also undertake commissions to produce one-off posters to commemorate weddings and births and if you really have the letterpress bug, you can even attend a workshop at his studio and learn a little bit about the history of the press and then create your own poster to take home.

The poster featured above costs £32 and you can find out more about Stephen and his work here

Belle & Boo Valentines Cards

02J0URNEY_VALCARD-252x356
We’ve featured Belle & Boo’s vintage-style children’s illustrations before, so we were delighted to see that they have produced a range of Valentine’s Day Cards.

Like the illustrations, the Belle & Boo Valentine’s Cards feature nostalgic drawings in muted colours, of a little boy and girl cuddling, kissing or holding hands in various settings. The designs have an innocent charm to them, which makes a change from most Valentines cards.

The cards cost £2 each from NineteenSeventyThree.

Rhodesia Was Super! limited edition serigraph by Derek Yaniger

Rhodesia

Apparently, 'Rhodesia is Super' was a travel slogan for holidays to the country (which is obviously now Zimbabwe) back in the 1970s. It's also the inspiration for this Rhodesia Was Super! limited edition serigraph by Derek Yaniger.

It's a four colour silk screened serigraph, printed on heavyweight archival paper and measuring 17 x 24 inches. But above all, it features those great, vintage-style cartoon images.

The print sells for £65, with part of the profits going to the Zimbabwe Agricultural Welfare Trust.

Brian Wildsmith Liberty Art Fabric

  LIBERTY

Liberty’s new season fabric collection features this rather lovely collaboration between the Liberty Design Studio and award-winning children’s illustrator Brian Wildsmith.

The collaboration draws on Liberty’s heritage, revisiting a relationship between shop and artist which dates back to the 1950’s. The design features pastel biplanes and jets and combines an original illustration from Wildsmith’s ‘The Amazing World of Words’, with Liberty menswear prints.

The fabric is 100% cotton and would lend itself to all sorts of creative projects.
It’s available both in-store and online and is priced at £19.95 per metre.
