Lomo introduces the colourful Diana F+ CMYK camera

Lomo_colour

We've featured numerous variations of the 1960s-styled Diana camera, but the Lomo Diana F+ CMYK camera does bring something new to the table – lots of colour.

It's pretty much your average Diana, a recreation of that 60s cult classic complete with oversized flash and good for those colour-drenched, slightly blurry, but always individual images.

But this time there's that colour – CMYK (pronounced 'smeek' would you believe) covers the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black that make up the colour combination of the casing. Want one? This old school film cam will cost you from £84.42.

Alphabot Print

654

The Alphabot Print by Bold & Noble combines two of our favourite things – typography and retro robots.

The print features a robot whose body is made up from letters of the alphabet, making it not only a great decorative item, but also educational too if you want to hang it on your child’s wall rather than keep it for yourself. The print is available in a choice of cobalt blue or metallic silver, both priced £38. the prints are sold unframed, but measuring 50cm by 70cm, they do fit standard frames.

Visit the Bold & Noble website to buy.

John French Photography Calendar

99714a

Best to get in quick and buy yourself a calendar before a relative can buy you a “cute” kittens one for Christmas. My suggestion would be the John French Photography Calendar from the V&A.

Each month features a gorgeous black and white photograph from the V&A’s archive of French’s work. The images date from the 1950s and 1960s, and include photographs of fashion model as well as icons such as Jean Shrimpton.

The calendar costs £9.99 and can be bought from the V and A Shop.

Liquorice Loops 60s-style kinetic mobile by Ivan Black

Laikingland loop-mobile1

Ivan Black's Liquorice Loops is a little piece of art for your home that looks like it has come straight out of the sixties. Not only because of the look of the curved laminate pieces but also because it plays with kinetic art, which is seen as reaching its golden age in that era. It's constructed using a combination of magnets and ball bearings so that the loops will start moving with a slight blow onto the piece.

It measures 30cm high and costs £160. It's just one of the kinetic objects offered by Laikingland, so if you like this there's plenty more to explore.

Keith Haring fabric patches from the Pop Life exhibition shop

Fabric patches

The exhibition Pop Life opened last week at Tate Modern. The show looks at the impact of Pop Art and how following generations of artists embraced the cult of celebrity and the commercial opportunities it offered. At the centre of the exhibition is a recreation of Keith Haring's Pop Shop which he set up in New York to sell his branded products directly to the public. Of course this means Tate is stocking some great related products, including these fabric patches.

Reflecting Haring's willingness to put his name to just about anything, they use four of his famous designs, including the baby. They are perfect for adding a touch of street art to a worn, but otherwise loved, item of clothing. At £4.40 each they are a cheap way into buying into a favourite artist and the spirit of the exhibition.
