Yvonne Gregory Coin Purse

Yvonne Gregory was a photographer in her own right early part of the 20th Century, but she was also married to Bertram Park, one of the most successful society photographers of his day. The striking image that appears on the Yvonne Gregory Coin Purse is a photograph of Gregory taken by her husband in 1919.

The black & white picture has been recreated on the leather purse, made from high quality leather by Irish company Tinnakeenly Leathers. The purse costs £7.50 from the National Portrait Gallery shop with a discounted price of £6.75 for NPG members. There is also a matching compact mirror for £3.50 (£3.15 for members).

Catchphrase Print

Created by the small design company Ink Prints, the Catchphrase Print consists of nothing but well-known catchphrases from British television shows of yesteryear.

Central is Bruce Forsyth’s Play Your Cards Right catchphrase, “Nice to See You to See You Nice”. Other gameshow phrases are included alongside catchphrases from sitcoms including Are You Being Served, Reginald Perrin and Steptoe and Son and from comedians like Tommy Cooper and the Two Ronnies. The print is great for fans of classic British television, with it being fun to see how many you can identify. Further visual interest is added to the design by its use of a variety of different typefaces.

Pin-Up For Heroes 40s style charity calendar

Pinup for heroes

Much loved pin-up art, from Vargas to modern photo models, provides one of the richest seams of retro art for 40s and 50s enthusiasts. Pin-Up For Heroes have gotten together twelve fantastic images inspired by the 1940s pin-ups, and it's all for charity.

The 2010 calendar was compiled by Midlands based photographers Andy Simon and Steve Elliot, using a great collection of professional and amateur models. All the work was done for free and every penny of the profits goes straight to a very worthy cause in the form of Help For Heroes.

A very noble cause and the bonus of some amazing wall art, all for £7.99 plus postage.

Tony Hart Vision On limited edition screenprinted poster

A 60s and 70s TV cult classic is now a piece of cool wall art – Tony Hart Vision On limited edition screenprinted poster.

Vision On actually ran from 1964 to 1976, originally produced for the deaf, but gaining a huge following amongst all kids, who were encouraged to get creative and famously, to send in their pictures for the 'gallery'.

The print here (by host and artist Tony Hart) is the logo and is made up of the title words and their reflection. The prints are limited to just 100, each one individually numbered and with a signature of the sadly-departed Tony Hart embossed in the bottom corner. Sized around 420 x 594mm (A2), sold without the frame and in a choice of colours, they sell for a bargain £20 each.

Wilton’s Music Hall anniversary poster from New North Press

Wilton Music Hall

Wilton's Music Hall is a rare surviving example of a Victorian music hall. Situated in east London, it celebrates its 150 year anniversary in 2009. This poster from New North Press lists the colourful history of the building's neighbourhood over the time of its existence as well as the building's various incarnations: from music hall to Methodist mission hall to rag warehouse. The poster draws its style from its subject matter and looks like a traditional billing poster. 

The poster is hand-printed and is an edition of 150. Each print costs £100, of which 10% goes to Wilton's Music Hall Trust.
