Gola_suede_2

Following on from the anniversary Harriers last year, Gola has just launched the 40th anniversary Gola Harrier Suede range.

As the name suggests, this is also to celebrate 40 years of the Harrier, with the leather swapped for suede and with four colour ranges to choose from – all faithful to the original 1968 design.

Every pair comes in a ‘vintage’ orange box and commemorative leaflet, selling for just £35 per pair.

20th Century Society K8 Telephone Kiosk tea towels

K8
The K8 Telephone Kiosk was designed in 1968, the stylish younger brother of the classic British phone box. And now you can celebrate it with the 20th Century Society K8 Telephone Kiosk tea towels.

The design of the phone box was by Bruce Martin, using clean lines and less parts than the previous box. The 20th Century Society is seeking to have the last few listed – and this is where you come in.

Proceeds from the tea towels support the society, which indirectly helps the boxes. The designed on the 100 per cent tea towel is by Retro To Go favourites People Will Always Need Plates, with the design screenprinted onto the 76 x 48cm towels. You get two of them, along with a brief history of the box by Gavin Stamp.

And that package (a certain collectable of the future) costs just £12.

it does as it says – just stick it on your head and you get a Dalek head and a Dalek voice – which should be fun for at least 15 minutes or until someone else in the house confiscates it off you.

Oh yes – and it has a glowing blue light too. Interested? You can buy it online for £40.

More of us are cycling – which means more cycling accessories on the market. Like these eye-catching Sawaka Saruno cycling helmets.

hey are the work (as the name suggests) of Japanese designer Sawaka Saruno, who loved riding a bike, but didn’t think much of the cycling accessories on the market for women. So she created some.

The helmets meet all safety requirements and come in a range of styles, including the Kiku and Sakura above. All feature a side adjuster, diamonte on the buckle and the brand label on the rear. All retail for £60 each.

Alexander Girard’s La Fonda coffee table

Lafonda_table

A while back we featured the reissued La Fonda armchair by Alexander Girard. If you liked that, chances are that you’ll also like the newly-reissued La Fonda coffee table.

The tables were commissioned for the La Fonda del Sol restaurant at New York’s Rockefeller Center and developed in the Eames office in 1961. That resulted in the striking chrome die-cast aluminium legs and Carrara marble top, standing at a height of 65cm and with a diameter of 45cm.

And it is available again, courtesy of Vitra. Price is around £1,254.
