Puma Originals Grip bag

Puma_originals
The sales are coming to an end, but there’s still a few bargains to be had – especially online. And one of them is this Puma Originals Grip bag.

Puma raided the archives heavily in 2007, with this Grip bag offered in various colours. It’s an old-school holdall – indeed it’s like the ones many of us took to school before the curse of the ruck sack took over. There’s a two-way zip opening, main compartment, side storage, metal studs and the Puma vintage logo.

And right now it’s marked down at the Puma store in a choice of colours to £30.

Bargain of the month: Asda’s Holmegaard-like glass vases

Asda_vase
We should have mentioned the Asda Fun Glass Vases before – but we’re mentioning them now because these cheap design classic copies are now even cheaper.

No, your eyes do not deceive you, these are very close copies of the Otta Brauer designs for Holmegaard in the 1960s, notably the Gulvase, but in this case with a shorter neck. Obviously the glass is of a much poorer quality, but when you find out the price you’ll know why.

You see, Asda has been selling these for £5 each. Cheap enough you might think, but we’ve just seen them in the Asda sale at a ridiculously cheap £3. And even better, a gift pack of three small ceramic versions is also in the sale for £3. We’ve already picked some up – if you’re quick, you can do the same.

Matrix M6001 retro LCD watch

Matrix_watch

I love a quirky watch – and the Matrix M6001 certainly fits that criteria.

It’s an LCD watch in a shiny steel casing and with a choice of coloured strap. But the main selling point is that display, which reminds me of an old car speedometer – but with the pointer replaced by small black blocks that indicate the time.

Sadly, this only seems to be available in Korea, although you can be it online from online Korean retailer Funshop for the equivalent of £37.

Art Disco NES tote bag

Nes_tote
Art Disco obviously loves the Nintendo NES – they have a range of items revolving around the retro console, including this rather eye-catching NES tote bag.

The image says it all really – a canvas tote bag in black with a blue (and small amount of red) design, featuring the controllers and leads.

And the best part of all is the price – it’s currently sitting in the sale section, priced at just £5.

Magic Hat – tissues from a top hat

Magichat
We don’t see a lot of top hats around these days, nor do we see a lot of magicians on TV doing tricks with them. So it’s good to see both the hat and the trick coming back with the Magic Hat.

Except this is more useful household design than magician’s accessory. Taking a lead from the old ‘handkerchief out of hat’ trick, the magic hat is actually a tissue dispenser. Just load it up with your favourite brand, then impress your friends as you produce a succession of tissues from the plastic hat. Which could be useful if someone has a cold.

It’s just being shown off at the Atypyk website, so no price as yet – but keep checking as the items are usually available from its online store within weeks.
