Warhol-style 15 Minutes silkscreen mirror by Imbue

Warhol

Yes, you too can have your 15 minutes of fame as a pop art icon, courtesy of this 15 Minutes silkscreen mirror by Imbue.

Brighton-based artist Imbue is best known for images that take familiar everyday logos and imagery and manipulate them to them a new twist – which is certainly the case here. Taking Andy Warhol's Marilyn image as the basis, this is a three-colour screenprint that's been printed onto perspex, which means you can hang it and see yourself in the centre. What could be better than that?

Sized at 20 x 20 inches, signed by the artist and limited to just 10, you can secure one online for £200.

eBay watch: 1970s pulldown eyeball pendant light

Dropdown

Another superb vintage light on eBay – this time a 1970s pulldown eyeball pendant light.

No maker or designer is accredited, but it is presumed to be from the 1970s, as well as being a Danish design from the era. For your money, you get a 360 degree rotating shade and drop-fall cord, the shade made of chrome plated steel for serious, eye-catching appeal.

According to the seller, it's in 'excellent condition and full working order', with a 'buy it now' price of £195 being asked (although you can also make an offer). The table obviously isn't included.

eBay watch: 1970s modernist-style chandelier

Modernist

A very interesting design – and this 1970s modernist-style chandelier isn't too expensive to pick up.

According to the seller, the fitting (one of three available) was fitted new in the late 70s, but was taken out of the building recently when it underwent a refit. Maybe they just wanted to save some money, as the fitting uses 22 bulbs, all 40w 'golf ball' lights. You'll need a high ceiling too, with the drop from top of the chrome to the bottom bulb is 84cm.

But it is a feature light, very of its era and at £160, cheaper than most reissued designer light fittings.

The Fashion File: Advice, Tips and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men by Janie Bryant

Madmen_book

I know there's a lot of Mad Men fans out there, so The Fashion File: Advice, Tips and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men by Janie Bryant will almost certainly find a ready-made audience.

Janie Bryant created all of the looks seen on cult show Mad Men, with this book offering a peak inside the dressing room, revealing how the looks of various characters are developed, as well as tips on where to find quality vintage clothing and accessories, plus ideas on pairing authentic pieces with modern clothing and accessories. Not just for women (although that's the backbone of it), there's also a section on giving men a touch of the Don Draper. Probably more Mad Men-inspired than focusing purely on the TV show, but if the show if your latest obsession, probably worth checking out.

It's got a shelf date of 14th October 2010, with Amazon doing pre-orders for the 192-page hardback book right now – the price is £14.44.

Dr Martens Phillip Monkey Boots

Dm_monkey

Not just one classic boot, these Dr Martens Phillip Monkey Boots are a hybrid of two.

Obviously it's a monkey boot, once common streetwear, but seen much less in the modern era. These have been given the Dr Martens treatment, complete with that famous air-cushioned sole, throwing in some contrast stitching, as well as the signature pull on table to the back of the heel to finish things off.

Cherry red is the single colour option, with a pair retailing for £75.

eBay watch: 1950s Formica-topped plant stand

Plant

A rather cool little item for the 50s-themed home, this Formica-topped plant stand.

No maker of note, but if you want the look, it's all here – three angled wooden legs, a wooden platform and a black and white-striped Formica top with silver metallic rim.

Condition is described as 'good/fair', with some age-related marking. Then again, not much to pay – right now, it's just 99 pence.
