Elipson updates 70s Planet speakers

Elipson_planet
One for all you space age design freaks. If you’re in the market for some futuristic 70s speakers, you’ll be pleased to know that Elipson has re-introduced its Planet speakers.

However, rather than go for the full-on reproduction, Elipson has teamed up with wire-free specialists Parrot to add Bluetooth – which means you can use them around the house without any ugly wires, streaming music from a suitable Bluetooth device – PC, MP3 player or even a mobile phone.

Each Planet speaker is equipped with its own amplifier and both speakers offer a two way 60W bass reflex sound image per channel and a frequency range of 40-20,000Hz. They’re bundled with PC software for tuning and are available in either glossy white or black. Price is between 1000 Euros to 1200 Euros per pair.

Vintage telephones in pastel shades

Pastel_phones
We’ve got a vintage telephone, they look great, are easy to pick up cheaply, but can be a complete pain when you get through to a call centre with an automated menu. Still, the positives outweigh the negatives.

If we’ve sold you on the idea and you want something a bit brighter than the standard beige, green or red, check out these vintage telephones in pastel shades from Pedlars.

They’re full refurbished phones, compatible with BT phonelines, so just plug it in and you’re away. And if you’re with NTL and Telewest, they can send you an adapted version for those networks too. But best of all, they’re bold and bright, available in a choice of pink, lime or orange.

If either of those fit in with your current colour scheme, you can pick one up for £64.95.

Fisher Price View-Master

Viewmaster Did you know that the View-Master was first invented back in the 1930s? Originally it was pitched as an alternative to the scenic postcard (a 3D collection of images from your destination), but over time, it became more known as a children’s toy – with images to match.

The 3D images are just a clever manipulation of two images – viewed together, they fool the eye into seeing the depth. If you don’t believe me, you can find out for yourself as the View-Master, now owned by Fisher Price, is still available to buy.

The View-Master retails for around $8 online (that’s just £4.25), with discs available for around $5 per set (around £2.65). An inexpensive design classic that’s sure to give you and friends plenty of enjoyment.
