Emma Bridgewater Polka Dot AGA Cooker

Polka_dot_aga2

It is a match made in design heaven – Emma Bridgewater Polka Dot AGA Cooker.

Emma Bridgewater has made a name for herself with cute retro designs and you don’t get any more traditionally British than the manufacturer of country house cookers. It seems such an obvious match, it is almost surprisingly that they had not united before. The reason they have collaborated is to celebrate AGA’s 300th anniversary and the result is this limited edition cream cooker decorated with Emma Bridgewater’s signature dotty design. The cooker will sell for just under £10,000.

Visit the Emma Bridgewater website for details of when it will be available.

C60 cassette wallpaper from Mini Moderns

C60 wallpaper

Two favourite things meet in this wallpaper: a love of the humble cassette and a love of Mini Moderns' designs. Mini Modern's latest design for kids (or grown-ups who haven't quite grown up) is the C60 wallpaper. The pattern repeats a variety of different tapes, bringing back fond memories of carefully creating and listening to mix tapes with names such as 'summer hits' or 'party mix'.

The image shown is in the chalkboard and gold option but, if you are extra keen to encourage your kids to pay homage to this lost technology, it also comes in the customisable 'colour me' option. Both versions cost £38 per roll.

Vintage Plate Clock

Kitch-kitchen-clock

We’ve seen vintage plates given a new lease of life as cake stands but here is a more unusual idea, the Kitsch Kitchen Plate Clock.

Not only is the clock face made from an old floral patterned plate that your granny would probably live, but the hands have been made from spoon handles and the pendulum from a tablespoon.

The clock costs just under £40 from Stylish Life.

Walnut and Gloss Sculptural Side Table

Whitesculpturetable

A trend that seems to be bubbling under at the moment is the combination of walnut and high gloss white in one piece of furniture. The latest example of this I’ve spotted is this Sculptural Side Table.

Pictured here is the version that is predominantly white with a walnut finish to the inner surface area, but it is also available with the finishes reversed. Perhaps one of each would be an interesting effect, and as they cost just £129 each, not an unrealistic amount to spend. They can be used as side tables in the lounge or in the bedroon.

The tables are available to buy from Dwell.

Teapots and Jugs tea towel by Skinny laMinx

Teapot teatowel

We've featured Skinny laMinx before: her borrowed spoons textile had a distinctive 50s feel about it. Her new Teapots and Jugs tea towel has a similar look, partly because it is based on illustrations of all the vintage teapots and jugs she owns! Prepare to be envious of her attractive looking collection (you can see the original objects on her blog). The patterns and shapes of the ceramics are displayed in outline against panels of block colour.

The design is screenprinted onto hopsack and is available in grey or dutch orange for $12.50.

Puzzle Cube Decal

Il_430xN_66342067

The addictive Rubix cube puzzle spawned several imitators in the 80s, but more recently it has inspired dozens of products such as this Puzzle Cube Decal.

As I could never complete more than one side of the puzzle, I probably wouldn’t be in a rush to be reminded of the frustrating hours spent twisting and turning, but for those who love a bit of 80s nostalgia, this could be the perfect fun wall decoration. The pack contains two cube stickers, one with white, yellow and green sides, the other white, blue and red sides, although you can have cubes made in custom colours too.

The decals cost $45 (around £30) from Vinyl Wall Design on Etsy.
