Bow Print Jersey Dress from See by Chloé

Bowprint

With all the tailored and fitted retro items out there, it's hard to find a vintage inspired wardrobe piece with a more casual, day time look. This Bow Print Jersey Dress from See by Chloé combines simple, wearable design with just a hint of retro charm for everyday wear.

With a light and comfortable jersey fabric, the mini cut avoids being straight sixties, instead allowing many avenues of vintage inspiration to collide. A sixties hemline, eighties fabric choices and an element of the cutesy kitsch of the 50s with the bow print.

The dress is available from Selfridges now for just £80, down from £180.

Summer Ranch Batwing Top from French Connection

Batwingknit

Finding knitwear for warmer months can be difficult, with the British weather flitting between extremes. This Summer Ranch Knit Batwing Top from French Connection is an ideal choice, with some true retro appeal thrown in to boot.

The loose, light fit of the top adds to the eighties style batwing cut, with a delicate and light woolen fabric. The bright rainbow shades add some spunk, while the v-neck cut adds some much needed femininity to the oversized eighties cut.

Get it from French Connection UK for £88 in the sale.

Zeitfrei Adidas cycling shoes for Bianchi

Bianchi

Big thanks to David Doesburg for flagging up this rather niche Adidas design out of Italy – the Zeitfrei Adidas cycling shoes for Bianchi.

It's a cross between a trainer and a plimsoll, complete with the vintage-style charm of the latter. But it is created for a purpose – light and with sufficient grip for street cycling.

The design is more Bianchi than Adi, but if you look closely, you'll still see those famous three stripes. Only available (as far as we know) from Bianchi direct, a pair sells from 108 Euros.

Slazenger Heritage Gold Fred tank top

Fred

Slazenger Heritage is doing a good job of digging out and recreating some old school clobber for the modern era – and we're particularly taken by this new addition, the Slazenger Heritage Gold Fred tank top.

I would second guess it started out as a tennis tank top (essential for a British summer), but is back today as an extra layer with a bit of style for everyday wear.

Take your pick from a dark blue or white cable-knit, both with contrast detailing and the gold Slazenger logo. Both at the same price too – £55.

Hayward 2 print by Paul Catherall

Hayward pring

Cast your mind back and you may remember Paul Catherall's print of the Trellick Tower. He's now taken on another iconic London building with this limited edition print called Hayward 2.

The Hayward Gallery opened in July 1968 as part of the Southbank Centre and its construction is typical of Brutalist architecture. Here the gallery is shown using bold and bright colours more associated with the art shown inside the gallery than with its grey concrete exterior, making it a pretty attractive piece of art for your walls too.

The lino print is limited to 75 prints with each print costing £195.

eBay watch: 1970s space age Pfaffle alarm clock lamp

Pfaffle1

A design that could only have come out of the 1970s – this Pfaffle alarm clock lamp, which is up for grabs on eBay for not a lot of cash.

According to the seller, the lamp was designed by Knox for Pfaffle, a mix of chocolate brown plastic for the structure and brushed aluminium for the lamp section. Not just a lamp though – this is an alarm clock too.
