Space age-inspired INQ Cloud Touch and INQ Cloud Q mobiles phones by ChauhanStudio

Inq1

Some of you might recall the Colombo home phones by ChauhanStudio in 2008. The Joe Colombo-inspired handsets were first featured on our Switched On Set site and went down a storm, not least over here too. Well, the same designers are back with new phones, this time playing with the mobile and producing the INQ Cloud Touch and INQ Cloud Q. Best of all? They'll be pretty cheap to buy.

Like the Colombo, the handsets are once again inspired by 1970s space age design, you can imagine either sat next to some period Artemide lighting and not looking out of place (if they had mobiles phone then, obviously). But these are very modern handsets with deep Facebook integration as soon as you switch on, Spotify integrated into the handsets (via a dedicated key) and the Android operating system, so you can access all the apps on the Google platform.

eBay watch: 1970s chromed hanging light fitting

Hanging

Very few details offered here, but the images of this 1970s chromed hanging light fitting says it all.

A bizarre light fitting. with eight chromes shades, each 24cm long, each with cables that can be adjusted to about 135cm each (or much less). It's pretty much perfect for a 70s or space age house or pad, a talking point as well as functional lighting. Just make sure you get a professional to set it up.

Price? Right now it's still to get off the mark, so potentially yours for just 1p.

eBay watch: 1970s Starsky and Hutch-style Ford Gran Torino car

Torino

Here's something that's guaranteed to make men (and women) of a certain age feel nostalgic for their youth, a 1974 Ford Gran Torino car, which is available to buy via eBay.

Of course, it's the car made famous by Starsky and Hutch, with this particular model coming complete with the paint job from the TV show, not to mention a flashing red light. It's a childhood dream come true.

In terms of detail, it's had three owners since being imported from the US, with 70,200 miles on the clock. It's described as being in 'superb condition', with plenty of upgrading and maintenance over the years. Not cheap though – £12,995 on a 'buy it now' or you can make an offer. More images and details on the site.

eBay watch: 1970s Krups Comfortchron Lux flip clock

Krups

A piece of old school technology, but one with a lot of character – this Krups Comfortchron Lux flip clock.

It's a German-made clock from the 1970s in a bold shade of yellow, offering the basics of time-telling via those flip digits and power via batteries or mains, so less wires if you don't want them.

It's described as being in 'used but very good' condition, as the 'battery box shows some signs of corrosion', but nothing to affect performance. Just one bid so far, taking the price to £1.99.

Maeve Tunic from Monsoon

Maevetunic

With seventies inspiration making its mark all across the high street, many designers have been focused heavily on the mainstream and disco styles from the era. This Maeve Tunic from Monsoon offers something different from that time, with a folksy post-sixties look.

The loose fit of the tunic style creates a relaxed, flowing shape with subtle femininity. With pleated sheer sleeves and a gypsy front fastening, the embroidery makes this an ideal Spring/Summer festival look from the post-Woodstock kids' style.

Get it online from Monsoon for £120.

eBay watch: 1970s Austin Mini pick-up truck

Austin

Lovely little vehicle that would be perfect for a retro-themed business – this 1970s Austin Mini pick-up truck.

Specifically it dates from 1979. At least, most of it does – the engine is a brand new 'gold seal engine' that's done just 3,000 miles since it was installed. So that's the effective mileage. Other than that, this completely-restored vehicle looks pretty much spotless, especially that canvas cover for the rear.

£4,500 is the starting bid if you want it for yourself.
