eBay watch: 1970s Citroen DS car

Ds

I was just reviewing an old horror movie on another of our sites and finding myself appreciating the Citroen DS that was used in one scene. So I opened up eBay, hunt around and found this 1970s Citroen DS available for auction.

According to the seller, this particular model is from 1974, with 100,000 miles on the clock and imported originally from Italy. The idea was to do it up, some of which was done to the tune of £1,600 from an established DS workshop. However, some work is needed to upgrade the interior and bodywork – but mechanically it's said to run just fine with both tax and MOT in place.

The 2.2-litre engine might drink petrol, but there's no denying that this is a head-turner and a genuine classic. Right now, bidding is at £1,119.

Gainsbourg heads to DVD and Blu-ray

Gainsbourg1

Not long out of the cinema, the recent biopic of Serge Gainsbourg, which went by the name of Gainsbourg, is heading to DVD and Blu-ray in a matter of weeks.

Both are set for release on 10th January 2011, so you might want to save some of your Christmas money if you were a fan of the movie when it went round the cinemas – or you missed it first time round. It had mixed reviews, some people loving it, others disappointed – but if you're still reading now, I suspect you're one of the former.

P’6612 Dashboard Le Mans 1970 Watch by Porsche Design

Porsche

The first win for Porsche at the Le Mans race was in 1970, with Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood driving a 917 K – and 40 years on, the P'6612 Dashboard Le Mans 1970 Watch by Porsche Design celebrates that significant event.

It's a watch based on the original car, with a dial styled after the car's instrumentation, a perforated calfskin strap with red stitching to replicate the steering wheel, the car's number 23 on the face and to finish things off, a brushed, polished titanium case, an automatic chronograph movement, and tachometer scale.

To coincide with the car's model number, 917 will be made, each sold with a scale model of the 917 K and a booklet signed by the race winners themselves. Price? Not yet confirmed, but we suspect 'not cheap'.

Adidas reissues women’s 1980s Julrunner trainers

Juhl

We don't feature a lot of women's trainers, but that's for good reason – there are very few classic reissues for women from the main brands. But here's an obscure addition that has just sneaked out by Adidas – the Julrunner trainers.

I think you might have guessed that this is a running shoe, specifically a French running shoe that first saw the light of day back in the 1980s. This reissue is faithful to that original, mixing nylon with suede detailing, throwing in reflective 3-Stripes and a heel patch to finish things off.

Two original colourways to choose from, £75 is the price tag.
