Kelly Hoppen Hicks wallpaper for B&Q

Hoppen B&Q

Another big name working on a high street budget, Kelly Hoppen has teamed up with B&Q for a new wallpaper range. The designs are quite varied in their style but one that leaps out is the Hicks wallpaper

The name seems to be no coincidence as the geometric shapes of the design are obviously strongly influenced by some of David Hicks' looks in the 1960s and 70s, such as his hexagonal wallpaper. Hoppen has given a contemporary feel to her design by playing with different textures of paper with both of the two colourways available for this design, as shown in the image above, using a silver effect.

The paper costs £19.98 a roll (compared to a reissue of an original Hicks design which will cost you around £50 a roll).

Zandra Rhodes Teepee for Millets

Zandra Rhodes teepee

Think of someone associated with camping and the outdoors life and Zandra Rhodes definitely isn't first person that springs to mind. Surely another sign (if you needed one) that camping is now considered cool is the fact she's now done a range with Millets which includes this striking teepee.

The teepee is decorated with the bright colours and the bold pattern you'd associate with Rhodes and the design draws on her love of Native American folk art. The teepee has a central pole and sewn-in ground sheet, though it's not clear how many people it sleeps, and is sure to be as well seen at the festivals this year as the Celia Birtwell or the Cath Kidston tents from previous years, not least because the shocking pink colour should help you spot it easily.

The teepee is the first in Rhodes' range for Millets that will eventually also include chairs, wellies and a flask. It costs £119.

Green Space beach towel by Ben de Lisi at Debenhams

Ben de Lisi beach towel

It's not really the weather to be heading to the beach though if you're lucky enough to be heading off to catch some sun abroad season or just want a retro look to fit in with the rest of your home, you may fancy this Green Space beach towel, part of Ben de Lisi's range at Debenhams.

Like the rest of the range, which includes the Blocks mug featured at end of last year, it's got a distinctively 1950s feel. In fact, looking at its graphic design, if it wasn't a towel you could almost hang on your wall as a piece of art!

Even better news is that the towel is currently reduced to £9.60.

Liberty and Merci range

Merci-Liberty

Only last week we told you about the collaboration between Liberty and Target and now Liberty are teaming up with another international shop, this time the Parisian concept store, Merci.

The products have been designed by Marie France Cohen, the creative director of Merci and all use the distinctive Liberty patterns. The range includes everything from gillets to brooches to mugs and is in both stores and on-line from today.

Prices start at £6.50 for a notebook and go up to £175 for some items of clothing. The rather pretty mini suitcase pictured is £45.

Missoni Home Bianconero range

Missoni home bianconero

Missoni's distinctive clothes and textiles crop up time and time again on this site but their home products are also well worth a look, especially when the designs are as appealing as the Bianconero range.

The tea set has the bold use of pattern and the retro feel you'd associate with the brand. Each object has a slightly different look: from the Op Art style waves on the coffee pot to the Pop flowers on the mug. The black and white colour scheme helps to unify all the designs.

Prices, as you'd expect from a designer brand, are high. They range from £108.50 for the teapot to £29 for the mug. However, they'll probably look as stylish in another thirty years as they do now, so perhaps you could consider it an investment.

Horrockses Fashions’ inspired products at the V&A

Horrockses apron

Vintage clothing connoisseurs will no doubt be aware of Horrockses Fashions. Started in 1946, the company specialised in full-skirted, colourfully-printed dresses. The company will be the subject of an exhibition opening at the Fashion and Textiles Museum, Bermondsey in July but if you can't wait that long you may be interested to learn that some of their bold patterns are being reproduced on products for the V&A

The V&A now holds the archives for Horrockses Fashions and have drawn on some of their textile designs for some Spring inspiration. The company had a long history of working with great textile designers and the V&A's range includes this apron in a Rose pattern that was originally designed by Pat Albeck in 1953. The pattern is also available on a (oh so twenty-first century) tote bag.

Pat Albeck is actually Emma Bridgewater's mother-in-law (you can see some of her contemporary designs on their website), so perhaps these designs could also offer a little inspiration for this Mother's day?

The apron costs £15 while the bag costs £10.
