Rasr-gene-wdstock-1-detaile-34137

The Woodstock Experience Multimedia Boxset was actually released in 2009, to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the festival, but we must have missed it then.

The set is an official product, created with the assistance of Woodstock Executive Producer Michael Lang and was published as a signed limited edition of only 1,000 copies. Supplied in a handmade case, it consists of an authorised history by 60 musicians, staff and audience members, illustrated by Woodstock's official photographer, Henry Diltz, unseen photography of Dan Garson, a 7" vinyl record and a fine art print by Peter Max and an authentic Woodstock ticket.

Amazon and Paul Smith both have two copies each in stock, priced £395.

San Francisco lomo art photograph

San francisco

Truly a special piece for anyone familiar with this great city. This lomo art photograph of San Francisco was taken with a vintage camera, using film that is no longer in production. There are three prints of 16 x 16 inches available or other sizes can be made to order.

A larger verson of the famous image, featuring downtown San Fancisco with a view across the bay, was recently on display with RAW Artists at Cinespace in Hollywood.

Even it's creation, by hand in a darkroom with an enlarger and trays, gives this unique photo a retro aura and if you're as taken by this image as we are, get your very own on Etsy, for £82.51, made by Tara Holland. Prints are made to order, and will take a minimum of three weeks to arrive with extra costs for posting to the UK, find out more on the Etsy website.

Portobello Road: Photographed in the Sixties by John Petty

51tKoeaeLtL__SL500_AA300_
Portobello Road Photographed in the Sixties by John Petty offers a photographic record of the famous London street in what many consider to be its golden era.

Taken in the early 1960s, the photographs remained unpublished until this book was released last year. They show the market, its characters and traditions which have all but gone from the area now.

The book is available in hardback from Amazon, priced £11.66.

Coulson Macleod Decades Prints

Sixties1
Artist Coulson Macleod has produced a series of Decades prints, which feature his signature typographic work.

There are three design in the series, representing the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Each one features the decade name with quotations, film titles, car models, key figures, fashion and music trends and inventions arranged around it. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Sixties print is my favourite, with psychedelia, peace, love and Mary Quant mini skirts topping the Seventies mixture of disco, funk and punk references. The Eighties print contains too many things that I’m not ready to feel nostalgic for (Thatcher, yuppies, Eddie Murphy and shoulder pads to name a few), but if you remember that decade more fondly then it might appeal.

The Decades prints cost £35 unframed or £65 for the print in a white wood frame. Buy online from the Coulson Macleod website.

The Prisoner limited edition poster by Piper Gates Design

Prisoner

You might well remember Piper Gates Design from the Syd Barrett colouring book as well as the earlier Joy Division colouring book. Well, the company has now moved into limited edition artwork, kicking off with this limited edition poster of The Prisoner.

It's a smart item too. Obviously inspired by 1960s cult classic TV series The Prisoner (see McGoohan and that 'bubble' on the front cover), it also uses the format of 1960s Penguin paperback reference books, complete with an old 3'6 price tag on the top.

25 copies only are being made, all sized at 500mm x 700mm, printed on 194 gram paper and signed by the artist. £19.99 secures you one online.
