Monopoly goes futuristic with Monopoly Revolution

Monopoly_revolution

It's been around for the best part of 75 years, which probably gives Monopoly classic status. But in that time, the look and feel of the game hasn't changed a great deal – until the arrival of Monopoly Revolution.

You know what? We quite like it – it's the Monopoly you would expect to see in Space 1999, making it a perfect addition to any space age-style home. Gameplay is much the same, but now it takes place on a round, rather than a square board. But the real difference is with the money. No longer a handful of paper notes, the cash is dealt with via that central unit and some banking cards. Prices are different too, more in line with real values. Which makes the whole thing more 'high stakes'. A few sound effects and some suitable music are also included, for better or worse.

Look out for in time for this coming Christmas, priced a little up than the original, but not a great deal.

Lomography introduces Fisheye 2 Pink camera for Valentine’s Day

Pink_fisheye

What is it about pink things and Valentine's Day? You can't move for the stuff. But at least the bold shade of pink here covers something pretty hip – the Lomography Fisheye 2 camera.

Yes, the world's only 35mm compact fisheye camera has a new paint job, but it's still the same quirky camera, snapping 180-degree circular shots, throwing in a removable fisheye viewfinder too, so you can see the world as the fishes see it.

It's also equipped with a switch for long and multiple exposures and has the option of adding a Colorsplash or Diana flash. If your loved one loves pink, you can buy her this for £45. Or simply treat yourself.

Fred Perry Tournament Edition World Cup 2010 polo shirts

Tourno1

We mentioned these at our Modculture site last year, when they were just possibles for market, but now we've had conformation that the Fred Perry Tournament Edition World Cup 2010 polo shirts are going into production – and soon.

The shirts will feature 12 of the nations who have qualified for this year's finals, all in the colours of the nation, although the England one is in '66 red (so it doesn't get mixed up with Germany I presume). Detailing is also in line with the country's football colours, the badge having the name of said country under the Laurel logo. A nice twist on the classic shirt which, I suspect is going to fly off the shelves as summer arrives. Certainly better than the current generation of replica tops.

The countries featured are Brazil, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Japan, Slovenia, South Korea and Spain – Japan and Sweden are pictured above, with England, Brazil, Italy and Spain over the page. Look out for them in Fred Perry stores from May, price still to be confirmed.

Grace Kelly: Style Icon forthcoming display at the V&A

Grace Kelly style icon exhibition

If you are a fan of the classic style of Grace Kelly, you'd better put the dates 17 April until 26 September in your diary when the V&A Museum will be hosting the display Grace Kelly: Style Icon.

The show features fifty of Kelly's outfits ranging from her time as a Hollywood starlet in the 1950s to her role as Princess Grace of Monaco. The dresses include costumes from her famous films such as High Society and Rear Window, as well as clothes that illustrate her off-screen style, and will be supplemented with photographs and film footage. The display also includes perhaps her most lasting contribution to the world of fashion, the original Hermes Kelly bag.

Admission is £6 which sounds a pretty reasonable fee for vintage film and fashion fans.

Karlsson Spider wall clock

Karlsson spider clock

We've previously featured all kinds of attractive retro clocks that have come courtesy of Karlsson. This Spider Clock is no exception to the rule.

It features chrome tips that radiate out from the clock face, each covered in brightly coloured balls. In fact, it's quite similar to George Nelson's classic Vitra Ball clock.

However, the Karlsson version is available on a budget, costing just £35.
