Fred Perry Japan polo shirts

Perry_japan

Not just any old Fred Perry polo shirt, the Fred Perry Japan polo shirts have some subtle differences to the standard issue which take inspiration from the early versions of the classic top.

First up, the colours are different, offered in some unique shades from the usual range. The fit is also different – slimmer, shorter and slightly neater sleeves. And if you look closely, you'll also notice unbranded buttons.

But still 100 per cent cotton and for the individuals out there, a limited edition. Three colour options to go for, all selling for just under £70.

Restored 1950s T-12 Urbano telephones at Russell Johnson Imports

Urbano1

Ever heard of the T-12 Urbano telephone? Me neither, but one look at the picture and I was sold. It's not just a pretty face either, with Russell Johnson Imports selling completely reconditioned models online.

The phones were originally designed in the US by Standard Electric in the late 50s, the design being sold around the world through to the mid-60s. These particular models are from Argentina, with original state-owned phones undergoing extensive renovation – new microphones, cartridges and cables, along with a new paint job. Apparently it takes four old phones to create one reconditioned model ready to go.

Fingerless Lace Gloves from New Look

Lacegloves

Lace seems to be making a comeback on the high street, in the wake of many eighties revivals. If you're after a piece of unmistakeably eighties style without blowing the budget, these Lace Gloves from New Look are a fun idea.

Taking the eighties' love for accessories of all varieties, however impractical, these wrist length gloves are fingerless. Eschewing the obvious black, they're made in a baby pink shade, but still retain all the kooky charm of Madonna's black lace phase.

Exclusively available online, they cost just £4 – perfect for something you might not get to wear too often.

The decorations feature the black outlines of perfectly poised retro-styled girls and are ready to stick onto your kitchen or bathroom tiles, depending on where in your home is most in need of a shot of glamour. They're apparently easily removable and come in packs of ten. Choose from three evocatively named colour options available, each featuring a different girl and in appropriately pastel shades. The Mrs Murphy Collection is the work of Malin Ehlin, a Swedish designer. With a bit of internet searching you can find some more of their range which also includes more pin-up covered objects and a retro tattooed themed line.
