Fila Vintage Zizzore Tracktops

Filaziz

Fila is really pushing its archive collection right now, which includes these Fila Vintage Zizzore Tracktops.

According to Fila, these are straight out of the archive, with no updates on the original. I’m not sure when the originals were actually in production, but I would guess around the late 70s. It’s a full zip top with Fila logo and the Fila patchwork logo on the arm and available in the colour schemes above – blue and navy or cream and red.

Available now for £60.

Gorenje retro-style fridge

Gorenje_fridge_3 Fancy a Smeg-like fridge, but don’t fancy paying a Smeg price? You should check out the Gorenje retro-style fridge range.

This European company is making a push into the UK – and this fridge is one of its fastest-moving items. No surprise really, it’s available in a range of interesting colours, including vanilla, silver and the burgundy pictured here, it’s eco-friendly (A+ rated) and it comes with a five years parts and labour deal.

Check out the full size and specification here. And if it matches up to your requirements, here’s the good news – they’re priced between £550 and £650. That’s considerably cheaper than the lowest-priced Smeg. Is the label worth the extra few hundred quid? We don’t think so.

French Bull Robot plates

Robotplates

Yesterday we featured the Tepper Jackson retro flight bag, designed by Jackie Shapiro and Linda Tepper. Well, if you liked that, you might be interested to know that Jackie Shapiro is the designer behind the French Bull company, which produces quirky and affordable tableware for people who just don’t want a plain white plate.

Typical of the range are these French Bull Robot plates. They’re made of heavy-duty lightweight melamine with a gloss finish – and in this case, feature vintage robot designs. You get four in the set, two of which are featured above.

And they’re a decent price too – $28 for the set, which is just £14 – or £3.50 per plate.

Vintage-style suitcase record player with radio

Suitcaseplayer When I was a lad, my first record player was of the suitcase variety, complete with a bag of old 45s no-one in the family wanted. In hindsight, they were pretty decent – Kinks, Stones, Beatles, Nancy Sinatra and the Walker Brothers – all scratched of course. I’ve still got most of them, so could perhaps re-live the past with this vintage-style suitcase record player with radio.

Slightly more upmarket than my old red one, this one really does look like a vintage suitcase and plays all vinyl speeds – 33, 45 and 78 – through the built-in stereo speakers. It’s also got a manual return tone arm and a stylus included, as well as that radio, which can pick up FM and AM stations.

Mains powered only, it retails for $99 (around £50).
